I am launching The Goldberg Project, which consists of performances of the Goldberg Variations, by Johann Sebastian Bach, a CD of this music, and two books: Bach and the Goldberg and The Goldberg and My Self. I have performed on stages in Germany, France, Mexico, and the United States, and I have appeared on TV and radio broadcasts. I was born in Utrecht, Holland to German parents. My interest in the harpsichord was born when my father built for me a Zuckerman harpsichord kit. My father’s gift inspired me to learn everything about the art of harpsichord playing and accompanying at the Conservatoire National d’Aix en Provence, at the University of Pennsylvania, at the Conservatoire National de Region de Lille, and at the Juilliard School. My quest to share powerfully the wonderful repertory of this unique instrument has continued at the Center of Human Encouragement in Rochester.

So as you can see, we are talking with an expert in everything that concerns the music for the harpsichord. Immediately you realize what is behind this music, what is behind this instrument. Therefore, you cannot miss tomorrow’s concert; it would be an extremely grave mistake to make in your lives
Without a doubt the harpsichordist of the evening did not play a small part in this. Josephine Gaeffke ... presented herself not only as a virtuoso, but also as a sensitive interpreter. This was manifested not only again and again in her accompanying of the singers, but also in her solos. In Bach’s French Suite in Eb (BWV 815) she displayed a remarkable facility at using all the registers as well as an abundance of artistry. Therewith she astounded everyone with a rich palette of sounds and a range of expression not conventionally associated with the harpsichord. She could serve as a model for some pianists.
